Fun E Cars

This is the first test platform. The frame is from a Chevy S10 pickup.

The 72 volt drive system is 3-phase AC induction motor. The solid state controller incorporates regenerative braking. This test platform is heavy at 1600 lbs, however; with only (6) 12 volt batteries it has almost a 20 mile range of city driving.

It is street legal and licensed and inspected as a motorcycle. Most states consider any vehicle with three wheels to be a motorcycle, yet it drives the same as a car.

Onward! The next prototype is a 12-1/2 ft. long two-wheeled motorcycle.

The main frame is done and we are now mounting the front end and rear drive assembly. The motor from the origianl reverse trike is being used. It is titled as an assembled motorcycle. The motorcycle will have a Bonneville style body added to it. Scroll down for pics as it goes through the assembly process.

Progress! Rolling chassis with motor and controller mounted.

Now that it has been road tested for several miles around town, I think I'll hook up some brakes..... Cool seat, huh?

If we moved the motor down into the frame, I believe we could have seating for four....

Licensed, legal, and on the road!!! 50 miles later.... it's a cruiser. Got a 30+ mile range of in-town driving with 110 amp hour batteries
